I look forward to starting with the Milwaukee, WI. Metcalfe Area, because I live in the same Aldermanic District, and I'm praying that I'm someday considered one of the individuals that brought "Positive Change!" into the community. I've seen and listened to the neighborhood activities, and I've learned that a cultivated foundation begins at Home! So, knowing that God has brought me back home for a purpose, I'd like to begin this game of Chess!(So to Speak), to bring LIFE back to the community. And with the community's assistance, we/re hoping to build self esteem and give encouragement to the future leaders of tomorrow! Our goal is to someday convert my home (into this art gallery) here in the inner city, and bring more culture back into the city. Years ago, and yet still today, In New York, its a natural and normal occurrence to enjoy the culture and arts of our african american people. Most every weekend friends and families gather together and visit the row houses, blocks apart to support the works of local artists, including local musicians for trio or quartet jam session. we're looking to bring that element BACK! , by starting here in my very own back yard. And, yes I am aware of our strong artistic grounding on the east and south sides of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Areas, but we sincerely feel our african american youths need examples of this quality, to challenge and encourage the gifts and talents that lie within themselves. We feel they need to know that someone cares . And that someone is willing to believe in them. "I Am That Someone". And we'd like to start by reaching out to the Metcalfe Neighborhood with hopes of just reminding these individuals, (be it children or adults), one at a time, that if they believe in themselves first, others will believe in them too.
